Biography

Asha is a multi-disciplinary designer whose work is deeply inspired by natural structures and organic forms. AAfter earning a BA (Hons) in Fine Arts from the University of the West of England, Bristol, Asha has worked as a designer and strategist for major global consultancies and design firms, working on notable architectural and public realm schemes worldwide. Living and working in France, Canada, and the UK. During her years working abroad, Asha found passion and community through pottery, creating pieces influenced by her Indian heritage. 

Her fascination with the tactile nature of clay, combined with her eye for detail, functionality, and aesthetics, prompted a career shift to full-time pottery. She now runs an intimate ceramics studio in Woodford Green, London, offering courses, taster sessions, and workshops in a relaxed and friendly environment. Her small class sizes reflect the mentor and mentee approach of her practice. Whether you’re looking to try something new or enjoy time with friends, Asha's studio offers a creative space for inspiration, learning, and having fun. 

Caring Through Clay

Asha’s love of clay is rooted in her appreciation for form, function, materiality, and colour. Drawing on her design background, she integrates sustainable practices into her work.  Her pottery reflects these principles, which evoke the calming senses of the natural world within the home.

Learning Through Play

With nearly a decade of pottery experience, trained in London, Toronto, and Sicily, Asha embraces learning through play. She views failure as an integral part of the creative process, fostering bold expression and reinvention. Her professional experience mentoring young designers shapes her approach to teaching, cultivating a nurturing and meditative studio environment.
